No new condo pictures (for now) but I thought I'd just let everyone know that I started a new blog about nothing in particular. But if you really miss me since I moved down here it just might fill that 'Lauren' void in your life.
If you're glad I'm gone...ouch.

I used the ! key 17 times in this post.
Don't worry, I didn't break into someone else's house and take photos...this is actually my condo! Check out all the updates...
First of all, here's my step dad workin on my crown molding!

He came down with my Uncle Mark to put it up, doesn't it just instantly dress up the place?

They worked for two days on it and had to stay the night and deal with my cooking...and they still did an awesome job!
And here is my sexxxxy Brazilian Tigerwood floor!!!! This is my Dad's handiwork!

Look at this, with the crown molding and the hardwood floor, this place is incredible! I own this place!! Isn't it weird?

...and look at the kitchen. It's not done yet, but it's gonna be sweet.

ALSO! The bedroom is totally done! I know I am overusing the ! key, but so much has been done since last time!

Still need some closet doors actually, but almost totally done!

In other news....check out my Valentine's Day present from John...

He's sweet...but please read the card.

That's all for now! So I guess I missed the move in date...but you can give me those housewarming presents as Valentine's Day presents and buy some more for when I actually move in...

Paint Wars
This week has been painting week 2!
We started during the week by painting the living room, but this picture doesn't really do the color justice (Sagey by Behr).

And like always, I was assisted by the lovely JFulla.

Painting is nice because it's so instantly gratifying, you start and when you're done the whole room looks better. Unlike demolition, where it looks like crap to start with and it looks like crap in the end, just different crap.
All that said, I wouldn't say I like painting. It's just rewarding.
Anyway, today John and I painted the trim in my bedroom. Tada!

Molly decided to take a nap on the wet trim...poor puppy...

John pissed me off so he got painted too...

I should have known he would retaliate.
FYI - to get paint out of your hair, put in LOTS of conditioner and then comb through with a fine toothed comb while the conditioner is still in.

My Dad, the man behind the scenes (he always somehow avoids pictures), was busy today too! He put in my new toilet! The vanity isn't installed yet but doesn't it look good?

He also laid the slate tile for the fireplace.

And tiled the laundry closet!

And that's it! Another week closer to move-in! Which, by the way, is tentatively set for Valentines Day. Buy your housewarming presents now!

OMG Condo Update Madness!
To start with, I would like to dedicate this post to my biggest helper this weekend

Molly! Gosh she was so helpful.
Anyway, a lot got done! Ok, so maybe it's been getting done for a couple weeks and I haven't been posting. Whatev.
We can start in the bedroom!
My dad has painted the closets and put up shelving for my things.

And I've been painting! My bedding just got in today, but I will have to save that for a later post. But anyway, it's bright green and this paint is gray, but it sometimes looks brown. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It reminds me of a chalkboard.

For the living room I picked out a floor! It's called Brazilian Tigerwood and it's pretty sexy, no? It's not going in until the painting is done.

I also picked out a paint color for the living room, but I had to test a few first. This is the main thing Molly helped with. She sat there and got paint in her fur. Like I said, so helpful.

I chose the one all the way to the right. It's Behr Sagey. Still gotta paint the room though.
In the bathroom I picked out a new light fixture...

My dad put in this tile...........................

And he also painted it this teal color!

I'm going for a beach-y theme in the bathroom, can you tell?
Anyway that's all for now! Tata!

It's starting to look goooood
So as of yesterday, I have a ceiling! I know it doesn't seem that exciting, there was a ceiling to start with, but just look at this picture...

It's starting to look good, right?!? Just imagine the air isn't full of drywall dust, and you'll see what I mean. It's looking clean, bright and white with those beautiful lights! When I bought the place it was dark and yellow with a popcorn ceiling full of water stains, so this is a huge improvement!
In other news, this happened...

It's so hard to yell at her when she looks at you with those eyes.

Massive Long-Awaited Update!
Well I think I have actually skipped two weeks now, oops! So we will just stop counting, whose idea was that anyway?
So many many moons ago my Dad came down for the weekend with my siblings and we worked on the condo one lovely Saturrrrr....Sunday? Don't remember.
My Dad removed absolutely everything from the kitchen, like everything. No cabinets, no floor, no appliances, and some of the wall was missing for some reason? I don't always follow his logic, but I trust it!

Mallory played maid and went around vacuuming all the mess we've made the past few weeks. That's her in the red, and yes she is taller than me. I know.

And I....sat on the floor. With a pair of pliers. And pulled tacks out. We need to have a flat surface to put the wood in, did I tell you I'm putting in fake hardwood? Like the engineered wood that looks real, not the laminate stuff. Anyway, here's my bucket of tacks and little pieces of carpet padding.

Skip to the next weekend when my dad started replacing some of the missing drywall from where he took down the soffit (google it, I had to).

John and I put up the insulation, which the doggies decided made a nice bed. I have to bathe them both later, don't even ask how that went.

My bedroom ceiling all insulated!

John is such a diva.
And today I found out that the electrical work passed inspection! So tomorrow the builder dudes are bringing drywall and Monday they start putting up my new, popcorn-free ceiling! Everything is going so fast...sheesh.
So uhm...update you again in......ok I dunno when. Sorry!

Week three came and went with no post...
But seriously, lots of stuff happened. I just can't remember to write about it.
Fail?
